Program Description:

This course is designed for Engineers who wish to improve their knowledge of recent developments in structural analysis and design, and to deepen their understanding of structural engineering. It is designed to suit both fresh graduates and those with some practical experience. It is also possible by drawing on the Department's strengths in offshore engineering to gain knowledge suitable for Structural Engineers working in the offshore sector. Particular emphasis is placed on the recent advances in analytical and design modern analytical techniques, for example, finite element analysis, is integrated where possible with design studies in prestressed and reinforced concrete, steel and composite construction. On successful completion of the course candidates will be well equipped to take employment in many sectors of the civil and structural engineering industry.
