Program Description:

The application of colour is ever widening and there is a large industry devoted to its manufacture and use. Not only are dyes and pigments used to colour textiles, paper, plastics, food, printing inks, paints etc, but they also find extensive application in reprographics, electronics and in the medical and security fields. Aimed at graduates in science and engineering, this course gives students the opportunity to develop their knowledge in colour science. Students study specialist areas in colour science and examine topics related to the surface coatings, dye and pigment manufacturing industries. Working closely with industry, studies are supported by the School's strong research base and wide range of industrial contacts.
