Program Description:
The programs in liturgical studies at the GTU seek to promote the study and understanding of Christian worship as it is lived and expressed through the churches' various traditions and cultures. It is built on the premise that worship is the heart of the theological enterprise, since it is both a key locus of the church's encounter with the mystery of the divine and a primary actualization of the ecclesial body. The programs are comprised of the historical, theological, and scientific study of Christian ritual practice. The intention of the program is to prepare liturgical scholars with expertise across disciplines and the ability to address both the scholarly and pastoral dimensions of worship. The GTU offers both Masters and Doctoral level degrees.
Eligibility Requirements:
M.A. - GRE: 550, GPA: 3.0
Reading knowledge in one modern foreign language is required by the third semester of coursework.
Ph.D. - GRE: 600, GPA: 3.5
Reading knowledge in two modern foreign languages in required by the third semester of coursework.
