Degree Offered
M.F.A. - Creative Nonfiction
Format: Campus, Online
Program Description:
The MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Goucher College offers non-traditional students nationwide a rigorous and exciting graduate level limited-residency writing program within a single genre that balances critical reading with original writing. Creative Nonfiction, a popular genre recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, refers to a type of writing that is strongly rooted in fact and reportage-like the highest quality journalism-but which is also creative in its unique and subjective focus, concept, or point of view. Creative nonfiction is also issues-based and often integrated with student interests in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, as well as reflective of other art forms.
