Program Description:

Using state of the art facilities and equipment, Neuroscience Institute faculty are actively engaged in basic research that ranges from molecular, cellular and computational to behavioral. Students accepted into the Neuroscience Institute doctoral program may work with Core or Associate faculty members.

The Neuroscience Institute currently has 16 core faculty members. Their nationally recognized research programs and efforts in training neuroscience students are supported by the Institute, as well as by many external grants supporting research and educational activities. These core faculty all also have an affiliation with one of Georgia State's traditional academic departments, including Biology, Psychology, and Math and Statistics. More than 40 faculty members in seven departments (Biology, Psychology, Math and Statistics, Computer Science, Philosophy, Physics and Astronomy, and Chemistry) are Associate members of the Neuroscience Institute.
