Program Description:
Students wishing to enroll must complete requirements for a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. They must also possess or be eligible for a Professional Level Four Certificate or equivalent in a teaching field. Persons with a Master’s degree in a related field may be admitted into the program if not seeking certification.
Courses include educational research, learning theories and application, curriculum theories and design, approaches to reading instruction, literacy assessment and correction, issues and trends in reading, reading in the content areas, digital literacies in the 21st century, and teaching literacy with English language learners. Students will also select three electives from a variety of available elective courses.
