Program Description:
The Counselor Education Program is for students who serve their communities, their institutions, and their professions as school counselors, clinical mental health counselors, and student service professionals. A student pursuing the masters degree chooses one of three concentrations: School Counseling a 51 hour program; Clinical Mental Health Counseling a 60 hour program; or Student Services in Higher Education a 48 hour program of study. At the Ed.S. degree level, the program of study requires completion of 30 credit hours.
Accreditation:
The program is accredited by CACREP (the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) and by NCATE. Also, the school counseling concentration is an approved certification program by the Georgia PSC.
Eligibility Requirements:
GRE or MAT test scores are accepted. For the School Counseling Concentration, pass the GACE Basic Skills Assessment.
