Program Description:

The Educational Leadership program with Concentration in SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION is designed to prepare school leaders for formal and informal leadership roles in school administration. The Program is also designed to prepare students to take Georgia’s certification assessment in educational leadership, the GACE. It provides candidates with the opportunity to build their knowledge base and skill level through foundational leadership activities in courses that focus on leadership, human resources, legal and ethical issues, and community relationships, as well as data analysis. Candidates begin the Program with a field-based course that begins the process of deep development of leadership capacity, and the program ends with a second internship that provides a venue for leading-not practicing leadership, but leading in real work, in real time, in real settings.

Eligibility Requirements:

MAT or GRE scores.
Three years school/district experience prior to admission to the program.
Submit school/district endorsement and agreement for Residency at the Building or District level.
Complete requirements for a Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership from a regionally accredited institution, OR complete requirements for a Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in an education field other than eduational leadership and successfully complete educational leadership coursework to include a course in school law & ethics and one other course to be selected from organizational leadership, school finance, human resources, or teaching and learning with a focus on using data in the school imporvement process.
