Program Description:

The graduate certificate in coaching is designed to provide online advanced education in areas that are critical for coaches to know. This knowledge will allow coaches to be confident and well prepared for coaching at any level of sport. Topics include season planning, teaching skills, designing team tactics, staff management, principles of training, evaluating talent, nutrition, sport psychology, motor learning, developing guiding principles for your sport, team captains, developing missions and goals, athlete recruitment and much more.

This program requires 12 credit hours of course work offered online. Four courses will provide students with advanced knowledge, skills and abilities in different areas of coaching. The education and skills learned in the courses will provide the latest techniques for today’s coaches. The courses are Sport Psychology for Coaches, Advanced Coaching, Athlete Recruitment and Motor Learning for Coaches.
