Program Description:

The department offers both the master of arts and the doctor of philosophy degrees in philosophy. In addition, the department offers a master of arts degree in the history and philosophy of science. The faculty have a diverse set of interests with special strength in areas such as ancient philosophy, action theory, ethics, metaphysics, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of biology.
