Program Description:

Florida Southern College offers three tracks to complete a Nursing Master of Science degree.

Prepare for the varied roles of a Nurse Educator in an academic or hospital setting.
The Nurse Educator program requires the graduate student to complete 37 semester hours; including one semester in a clinical setting, one semester in an education setting, and a scholarly project. Graduates are prepared for the Certified Nurse Educator examination offered through the National League for Nursing.

Prepare for advanced nursing practice role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
The CNS track requires the graduate student to complete 39 semester hours, 500 clinical practice hours over 3 semesters, and an independent scholarly paper or project. Graduates are prepared for the national certification examination as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Health through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Prepare for the role of the Adult Health Nurse Practitioner.
The NP track requires the graduate student to complete 39 semester hours, a minimum of 500 clinical practice hours over 3 semesters, and an independent scholarly paper or project. Graduates are prepared for the national certification examination through ANCC or AANP.

Florida Southern College offers an entry path to attain the Master’s degree.

If you are a licensed Registered Nurse and have a bachelor's degree (nursing or non-nursing), you may apply for direct admission to the MSN program. Undergraduate pre-requisite courses are required in health assessment, research, and statistics.
