Program Description:
The Master of Education in Organizational Management is a 36-credit program with choice of standard or non-profit specialization; designed for teachers, administrators, and professionals from all types of organizations that are facing educational reform and change in the way they currently operate. The program of study addresses the methods and techniques of enhancing the performance of teaching staff, administrators, other professionals, and work groups in public and private schools and organizations of all sizes in various fields such as human services, libraries, museums, human resources, and training and development. It also deals with the development of people and processes critical to high performance schools and organizations as well as the creation and maintenance of an effective learning culture that supports it.
This program is based on the belief that learning leads to change, and those organizations with the ability to learn continuously will be successful in uncertain and changing environments. The courses emphasize individual and team-based learning; the identification and development of competencies that are important for the achievement of classroom, school, and organizational objectives; and methods of institutionalizing, sharing, and maximizing effective instruction and learning.
