Program Description:
The program is based on a core curriculum that comprises four courses in the foundational fields of Information Psychology, Information Transfer, Information Organization, and Administrative Theory; four research courses in Research Philosophy, Qualitative and Quantitative Methods and Theory, and Advanced Research Strategies; and a course in Teaching and Learning in Organizations.
The core curriculum is enhanced by advanced work in concentrations. Students may take 12 hours of graduate courses in other disciplines, or more SLIM courses, from ESU or other accredited institutions of higher education to constitute a minor. Defined concentrations that have been submitted to the Kansas Board of Regents for approval are ESU's Instructional Design Technology from the Teachers College and Information Systems from the School of Business. Plans are also underway to add a defined concentration in Leadership and Library Administration. Following completion of the core courses, guided readings prepare students will for the qualifying examination and subsequent dissertation research.
