Program Information
Degree Offered
Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology Program at Emporia State University trains students to be both scientists and practitioners; approximately half of our students go on for doctoral-level training as psychologists, others practice Evidence-Based Psychology as Licensed Masters Level Psychologists. The program is largely on-campus and, for full-time students, is typically a 5-6 semester program. This is a generalist-training program that invites enough flexibility, and small enough class sizes, to pursue individual research interests or specialized training through independent study.
The degree is based on four standards requiring 60 credit hours, including a clinical internship. The internship is either a full calendar or academic year and is completed after all prerequisite courses have been taken. Certain courses, noted with an "*" below, must be completed with a grade of "A" or "B" before the internship can begin. Successful completion of the program qualifies the student for licensure as a Licensed Master's Level Psychologist with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
