Program Description:
The Graduate Art Therapy and Counseling Program is a rigorous clinical and research-based program that offers 63 required academic credit hours and 16 elective credit hours resulting in a Master of Science degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. The core curriculum follows a mental health focus,other areas of emphasis are offered, including, but not limited to: medical, school, and community art therapy. The program prepares graduates to pursue licensure in 47 states (typically need 1 additional course). The two-year program of full-time study is approved by the American Art Therapy Association and has trained professionals since 1973. An average of 15 students are in each of the 2 classes. Early application deadline is February 1 for fall entry, however, applications are accepted until all student positions are filled.

Eligibility Requirements:
Complete a personal interview at EVMS, and present your art portfolio (digital format) of 8-12 images demonstrating competency in a variety of media and an understanding of personal expression. All invited applicants are required to complete a face-to-face personal interview before acceptance is offered.
