Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
Representatives from the Peace Corps visited Eastern Michigan Oct. 15 for a get acquainted session as the University begins its partnership with the agency in offering a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
The new partnership is a part of the Peace Corps' Master's International program, which allows volunteers to combine Peace Corps service with a master's degree program, and receive credit for their service abroad. Eastern Michigan participants in the Peace Corps International Master's program will finish 1 1/2 years of graduate school here before earning six credits for their service abroad, which lasts 27 months. The student then returns for a final semester of study at EMU.
