Master of Science in Correctional/Juvenile Justice Studies
Format: Online
Program Description:
Corrections and juvenile justice are two of the fastest growing career fields, and completing a graduate degree in this discipline will lead to career opportunities in all levels of government and the private sector. The 30-hour M.S. degree is taught by faculty members with extensive experience in the field as practitioners, consultants, and researchers. Students completing this degree will gain considerable insight into intervention strategies, correctional and juvenile justice leadership, and policy analysis built on a foundation of theoretical knowledge about offenders, and knowledge of current correctional and juvenile justice research. EKU's M.S. program is designed with working professionals in mind, and will be completely online in the Spring 2008 semester. Students may choose to complete a comprehensive exam or write a thesis to complete degree requirements. For students interested in the on-campus program, several graduate assistantship positions are available each semester. The positions provide a modest stipend in return for performing research-related work for a department faculty member.
