Program Information

Degree Offered

Master of Arts - New Media Studio

Format: Campus

Program Description:

You may have interests in traditional studio techniques—sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, metals, and photography. Perhaps you have a desire to learn about emerging techniques in media— 3D animation, gaming, motion capture, visualization, video and special effects, image editing, digital illustration and graphic design. The M.A. in New Media Studio allows graduate students the opportunity to study any number or combination of these subjects. Our students are therefore encouraged to work with the mindset of a convergence of multiple disciplines. Whether you are a returning student seeking to expand your skills, or an artist looking to explore new digital techniques, you will find that the MA in New Media Studio offers what is not available from most other art programs.
Want to use 3D software to envision new sculpture techniques? Would you like to combine animation with charcoal drawings?Want to create an interactive painting? We hope you are the next innovator to develop such techniques here at ETSU.

ETSU's Department of Art and Design is an accredited institutional member of National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Additionally, the department holds membership in the College Art Association and other professional art organizations.
