Program Description:

This 30-hour training program includes coursework to enhance paraprofessional mental health services provided to children in community and school settings. Although this degree program is offered through the school psychology program, the M.S. Ed. in Child Psychology does not lead to the professional practice of school psychology. Admitted students may start the program in any semester.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for admission, applicants must submit the following:

Application for M.S. Ed. in Child Psychology Program
Online Application for Graduate Admissions
Official transcripts from the accredited college, university or seminary where the applicant obtained a bachelor’s degree.
Once received, each application packet will be reviewed to confirm one of the following criterion is present:

An overall 3.0 minimum GPA, or
A minimum 3.0 GPA on the most recent 48 credits, or
A minimum 2.8 overall GPA and at least 500 Verbal and 500 Quantitative GRE scores. Applicants must send GRE scores with admission application to use this option.

International Student Requirements:

Same academic requirements as U.S. students. In addition, TOEFL test (Paper based 550 minimum and internet based 80 minimum) must be taken and possibly the Duquesne University English Placement Tests and successful completion of any required English language course work. Letters of recommendation submitted by persons in authority at former university. Financial documentation showing ability to pay for education and living expenses. Student to maintain full time status. Must have major medical coverage.
