Program Description:
The Department of Genetics and Genomics provides a highly interactive environment for graduate and postgraduate training that develops creative and independent scientists. Collaboration between laboratories is common and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are an essential and integral part of this process. Research activities range from the genetic analysis of pattern formation in the Drosophila embryo to the identification of genes responsible for inherited human disease. The Department houses centers that facilitate the analysis of human and mouse genomes.
