Program Description:
The program of study in the Department of Biochemistry encompasses nontraditional areas, including molecular genetics, cell biology and physical chemistry, and traditional areas such as enzymology, metabolism, bioenergetics and the structure and function of nucleic acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and other natural products. Through the study of biomedical concepts, students develop a language of modern biology necessary for understanding the biological and biomedical sciences.
