Program Information

Degree Offered

MSN Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Format: Online

Program Description:

The MSN Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program focuses on the application of advanced practice nursing knowledge in order to improve and maintain the health status of a variety of patient populations. The program prepares students to provide comprehensive psychiatric mental health care to those who are at risk for mental illness, as well as those who are in need of psychiatric services. The online MSN in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program is a high quality program that demands a major commitment of time by the advanced practice nursing student. Because students are being educated to diagnose and treat patients, the master’s program was designed to combine the convenience of online learning with the necessary rigor to become a competent and confident advanced practice nurse upon graduation. Students admitted ‘out of region’ (out of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts) will have to come to Drexel for an additional one-week mid-term clinical assessment during the middle of their program. Students who are residents of New York may apply, but they may not do their clinical in the state of New York.
