Program Description:

At Des Moines University, our DPT program emphasizes hands-on manual treatment coupled with strong clinical training. Students here enjoy a cooperative campus environment, developing lifelong skills to stay abreast of changes in physical therapy and health care delivery. Clinical skills training begins early in the program and is interspersed throughout the curriculum. The DPT program features innovative teaching tools, including the Human Performance Lab, which combines diagnostics and biotechnology to evaluate and treat movement deficits and physical conditions. Applications for the DPT program will begin in August 2008 for the program that starts in August 2009. Averages for students enrolling in 2007: Overall GPA 3.5; prerequisite GPA 3.51; average age 24. Class size is 50. Faculty: student ratio is 1:13.
