Program Description:
The Computer Science and Engineering graduate program at Thayer School trains professionals in those scientific methods that underlie the emerging needs in national and global information. Research in digital and computer engineering includes evaluation of advanced computer architectures, circuit and system simulation tools and languages, networked computing and information retrieval, interactive multimedia systems and applications, and parallel computing and languages. Other research interests include hardware, software, and compilers for scientific and parallel computing; very large scale integration (VLSI) design tools, modeling languages and design automation: high performance processor and instruction set design; signal and image processing; and advanced human interface technologies.
