CreightonÆs Doctor of Pharmacy program is considered one of the most innovative pharmacy programs in the country. We believe that pharmacists must be responsive to patient needs by providing a level of patient care that focuses on disease state management, prevention of disease, patient outcomes, and wellness. Our four-year clinical Doctor of Pharmacy degree requires a minimum two years of pre-pharmacy coursework, however, many students complete three or more years before beginning our professional program. Over the past 100 years, CreightonÆs pharmacy program has adapted to reflect changes in the practice of pharmacy that focuses on pharmaceutical care. Specialized clinical and internship programs are available to students who have particular interests in the numerous fields of pharmacy, ranging from critical care to family medicine, pediatrics to gerontology, cardiology to home care and neurology to psychiatry. Our graduates enter practice with strong basic knowledge, communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and an empathic attitude toward their patients. Each year, graduates find ready employment and excellent salaries in a wide range of health service settings including private businesses, hospitals, clinics, government, military, and academic and research institutions.
