Program Description:

Creighton's Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, for those who believe that education is the work of a lifetime. Creighton's Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) differs dramatically from other graduate programs. Its cross-disciplinary emphasis frees students from the requirements of a particular profession or discipline. The MALS Program at Creighton encourages an individual student to work with the faculty to plan and carry out a program of study based on the student's life goals, objectives, and interests. At the same time, the MALS Program is committed to building and supporting a community of learners. In addition to MALS courses, all other graduate courses at Creighton are open to MALS students.

The Masters in Liberal Studies program is for life-long learners who value education for its own sake. Like any masters program at Creighton, it can lead to career advancement since it reflects the completion of a rigorous course of study at a high intellectual level. Graduates of the MALS program have used their degrees in the fields of teaching, university administration, advising, business, and consumer relations. Some have continued on to further their graduate study.
