Degree Offered
M.S.- Strategic Communications
Program Description:
Strategic communications is the critical thinking and vision required to inform and persuade an organization's stakeholders to act in a desired way in order to implement business goals. Whether a global corporation or a local nonprofit, communications must be managed strategically, targeted carefully and integrated seamlessly. Strategic communication depends on the systematic research, analysis, and insight prior to the execution of tactics, and a thorough evaluation and measurement of the results.
Students learn to think through issues thoroughly and precisely, analyze and reason logically and objectively in order to generate ideas and make discriminating judgments. Students are encouraged and supported as they become exhaustive researchers and persistent questioners, pursuing insights and taking risks, while being thorough in their analysis and persuasive in defending arguments, as well as writing concisely and articulately.
