The sports industry is the eleventh largest in the United States, generating over $213 billion per year. It is a diverse and growing field, incorporating multiple sectors including professional teams, public and private organizations, media and entertainment agencies, and facilities and events operations. Professional managers with industry-specific skills are employed in every sector of the field and have a range of job titles.
Though jobs as sports managers are plentiful, it is a competitive field. Columbia's master's degree in Sports Management expands professional opportunities by providing students with advanced, industry-specific training in finance, sports personnel management, law, sports marketing, and facility and event superintendence.
Columbia's Sports Management graduate degree program is designed to train managers for work in all sectors of the professional sports industry.
