Program Description:
The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is concerned with food from the time it leaves the farm until it is consumed by people. Included is the effect of good nutrition on health promotion and disease prevention. In this program, students learn to integrate and apply the principles from biomedical sciences, human behavior, and management to design and lead effective food and nutrition programs in a variety of settings. Coursework will develop your research skills, stimulate independent thought, and provide up-to-date knowledge in foods, nutrition, and food service and business management.
As an inter-institutional graduate program offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA), this Dietetics degree gives you access to and expert faculty at eight institutions. You apply and need to be accepted to the home institution, then you’re able to register for classes through the home institution, but take online classes offered by any of the partner institutions.

Must hold the credential of Registered Dietitian (RD) or be RD-eligible. GRE scores may be waived if applying through Track II.
