M.P.P.-Public Policy
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The goal of public policy education at William & Mary is to provide individuals with the intellectual tools needed to improve the quality of policymaking in the United States and abroad. Students who graduate from the Thomas Jefferson Program will have a knowledge of economics, statistics, politics, law, ethics, and substantive policy domains that will equip them to be effective participants in the policy process, whether in government agencies, non-profit organizations, or private sector firms. The Master in Public Policy (MPP) program, limited to approximately twenty to twenty-five new students each fall, is a two-year, full-time, residential program with a required internship in the summer between the two academic years. The MPP degree is designed for students interested in careers in the public sector and private sector firms with public sector ties, such as regulated industries and consulting firms with government clients. The MPP program is an applied program often involving work with real world clients. Joint degree programs with the school of Law, Business, and Marine Science at William and Mary are available.
