Art Education K-12 MSED, Art Education K-12 Advanced Certifcate
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The master of science program in art education is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). While there are more than 1,000 art programs in the U.S., fewer than 200 share this distinction with Saint Rose. The Center for Art and Design offers three different programs that meet the certification needs of those who are certified provisionally or initially in art education and are pursuing professional certification in New York state, as well as those who have a background in fine arts but no teaching experience. Students with a master's degree in art education are qualified to teach art in New York state in levels K-12, or work in educational programs in museums across the country.
The curriculum emphasizes studio work, offering students the opportunity to concentrate in one of four areas: drawing/painting, sculpture, printmaking, or photography. Within this program, you'll develop your identity as an artist as well as a personal philosophy in art education. Many of our graduate students enjoy individual studio spaces. We encourage you to visit our school to tour the facilities, especially our studios, and to meet our faculty.
