M.A. - Politics, Economics and Business;, Ph.D. - interfield Economics and Political Science; M.B.A./Ph.D. - Economics or Politics

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The School of Politics and Economics is distinguished by commitment to learning that crosses disciplines in the pursuit of answers to contemporary global, national and local issues. In today's world, the discipline of economics and the areas of political science and public policy work together to describe and influence the actions of government, business and society. SPE unifies two disciplines that few universities have successfully bridged with joint classes, degree opportunities and excellent student placement. We are the first school in the country to offer a master's degree that combines politics, economics and traditional business training in our Master of Arts degree in Politics, Economics and Business. In addition to traditional M.A. and Ph.D. degrees, the Department of Economics offers, in cooperation with faculty from the Department of Politics and Policy and the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, three special M.A. and Ph.D. tracks emphasizing business and financial economics, international economic policy, political economy and public policy. Faculty members encourage students interested in divergent areas to craft dual or interfiled degrees with disciplines outside of SPE, such as business, cultural studies, education, financial engineering, history, information science, mathematics, religion, philosophy, and psychology.
