Degree Offered
Psy.D. in Marital and Family Therapy
Program Description:
The Westwood Campus' Psy.D. in Marital and Family Therapy program is an accelerated degree that may be completed in three years. This post-master's program has been recognized for its excellent training in culturally competent service provision and offers students a remarkably wide variety of opportunities to gain experience. The Chicago School's MFT Department faculty members are actively engaged in practice and scholarship, and incorporate a wide variety of clinical examples into classroom activities.
A diverse and intensive curriculum ensures that graduates are equipped with expert knowledge in theory, research, and practice in marital and family therapy, and prepared to serve as leaders and/or senior administrators in both educational and clinical settings, or to teach in regionally accredited institutions of higher education.
ABOUT THE CHICAGO SCHOOL
The Chicago School is a not-for-profit, accredited institution with more than 3,500 students at campuses across the country (Chicago, Los Angeles and Orange Counties, Calif., and Washington, D.C.) and online. As the nation's oldest and largest graduate school devoted exclusively to psychology and related behavioral science, TCSPP offers more than 20 degree programs and a wealth of opportunities for international experiences. Our focus is not strictly on research or traditional clinical practice, but on preparing students to be extraordinary practitioners, equipped to make a lasting impact on individual lives, in business settings, in diverse and underserved communities, and around the globe.
ABOUT OUR WESTWOOD CAMPUS
Our Westwood campus is located in the center of Westwood Village, a lively neighborhood next to the UCLA campus and a short drive to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and several public beaches. This “urban yet suburban” neighborhood (with high-end restaurants, eclectic cafes and sandwich shops, retail shopping, and more) provides students access to UCLA’s libraries and other amenities.
The Westwood campus is also home to one of our well-known Chicago School Counseling Centers, which provides students with the extraordinary opportunity to gain real-world training and the skills needed to run a private practice or mental health clinic.
