Program Description:

Oceanography, the scientific study of the ocean, embraces all studies pertaining to the ocean and integrates the knowledge gained from the ocean. The areas of specialization in the Department include physical, chemical, biological and geological oceanography. The primary purpose of the Department of Oceanography is to administer a program of academic studies and associated research leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Oceanography.
