Program Description:

The INI Pittsburgh-Silicon Valley Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) programs have three offerings: Mobility (MSIT-MOB), Information Security (MSIT-IS) and Software Management (MSIT-SM).

These professional graduate degree programs integrate technology, management and industry experience to prepare students to become intelligent decision-makers in the field of information technology. All students gain the strategic thinking skills and insight that are essential for technology leaders in today's competitive business environment.

In 16 to 20 months, graduates will increase their technical knowledge, build their management capabilities and develop a strong network of contacts, all of which are long-lasting benefits that broaden their career prospects at graduation and in the future.

Integrating two campuses, the Pittsburgh-Silicon Valley programs give students unprecedented access to both the rich academic setting at Carnegie Mellon's main campus in Pittsburgh and the unique professional exposure at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley.

Students spend the first part of the program in Pittsburgh, where they may take classes from the Information Networking Institute and four world-renowned colleges: the College of Engineering, School of Computer Science, Tepper School of Business and the Heinz College. To complete the program, students travel to Silicon Valley where they engage in projects with Carnegie Mellon faculty and industry partners.
