Program Description:

Our Ph.D. program in Machine Learning is designed to give students a deep understanding of the computational and statistical principles that underlie learning processes, an exposure to real-world applications of machine learning, and an opportunity to design novel machine learning algorithms that advance the state of the art. As the only Machine Learning Department in existence, our goal is to produce graduates who go on to become leaders in this rapidly growing field. Our graduates have already gone on to take faculty positions in top-ranked Computer Science departments, Statistics departments, and Engineering departments at other universities, as well as positions in major industrial research laboratories.
