Program Description:
E&TIM is an accelerated masters program designed for technically educated professionals with science and engineering backgrounds. If enrolled full-time, the E&TIM program can be completed in one year, and has an unusual schedule that runs from January to December, including a mandatory internship during the summer semester. E&TIM provides students with an understanding of the fundamentals of innovation and value creation, while also strengthening technical insights. E&TIM applicants aspire to lead technology development and engineering, create new technology-enabled ventures, develop business technology strategies, or to design policies to encourage technology innovation. The core courses of the program emphasize the fundamentals of innovation management in theory and practice. Electives enable students to focus the program to their technical interests and to specific topics in technology innovation management processes, policies or organizations. In addition, a required summer internship project provides hands-on corporate experience in E&TIM. E&TIM applicants can also choose additional study options, including: * A dual degree opportunity with E&TIM and one of Carnegie Mellon's 96-unit course-only masters programs out of the School of Engineering (CIT) * A bicoastal curriculum to take advantage of the software management strengths and Silicon Valley immersion at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley.
