Program Description:

The MBA Program at CSU San Marcos has been in place since 1995. The objective of our MBA program is to provide our graduates with the skills and knowledge essential for management and leadership in organizations of the 21st century. The curriculum integrates the traditional business disciplines and recognizes the importance of both theory and practice. The program emphasizes skills and values essential to effective leadership: ethics, communication, teamwork, a global viewpoint, use of technology, problem recognition and problem solving. A variety of pedagogical techniques are used in the classroom to facilitate learning. The program's curriculum is designed for the generalist or the manager-leader as opposed to the functional area specialist. While there is significant course content in accounting, finance, operations, etc., emphasis is on the development of those skills which are integral to all management activities. In addition, the program reflects the increasing diversity in the workplace and helps students understand how diversity can provide a competitive edge.
