Program Description:

As our nation’s health care needs continue to grow, the demand for qualified radiologic technologists also continues to rise. Hospitals and clinics are increasingly seeking imaging specialists with advanced educations to ensure greater patient protection and reduce litigation. CSU Northridge is filling this need by offering two online certificates in advanced professional development for current radiologic technologists seeking training in CT or MRI.

Online Program in Computed Tomography (CT)
• Coursework is fully online, with 355 hours of clinical education experience in qualified clinical/hospital settings
• May be completed in two semesters
• Prepares students to test for advanced imaging credentials at a national level in computed tomography (CT)
• Graduates are qualified for the advanced certification exam offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
•43 continuing education credits (CEUs) are awarded to individuals who complete the program

Online Program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Coursework is fully online, with 300 hours of clinical education experience
• May be completed in three semesters
• Prepares students to test for advanced imaging credentials in MRI at a national level
• Graduates are qualified for the advanced certification exam offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Please note that these programs may be taken individually or concurrently, depending on your educational and career goals. If taken concurrently, typical completion time is one year, which includes 655 clinical on-site hours, and qualifies you to sit for both the CT and MRI American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exams.
