Program Description:
If you have a passion for fostering change in our communities, we have a program designed for you. The Master of Social Work (MSW) at CSU Northridge prepares working professionals to address the needs of families and neighborhoods and enhance social services to individuals. This program will also equip you to develop and evaluate solutions for families to improve quality of life and enhance educational and employment opportunities.
Highlights of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program
•Innovative partnerships between CSUN and local agencies allow MSW students to study while they maintain a full-time work schedule
• Attend classes year-round, three at a time, in 14- or 16-week semesters
• 9-16 hours per week of a field placement internship
•Cohort model ensures on-time graduation and strong support among students and faculty
• Offered Online and at three off-campus locations: College of the Canyons, Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services, and Ventura County Human Services Agency
• Participants qualify for subsidized and/or unsubsidized Stafford Loans
Successful candidates for the MSW program will possess a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or another liberal arts or behavioral sciences degree. Relevant work experience is also preferred.
