There are two plans for the MA degree in History. The Thesis Plan, which lends itself to research and independent study, is advisable for the student who expects to continue advanced study at the university, or who has a well-defined problem to explore. The Comprehensive Examination Plan is best suited for those who want a broad, rather than specialized, background in history and is designed primarily for teachers of history at the secondary and junior college levels.
