Program Description:

The School of Theatre is one of the nation's leading professional training programs. The environment is designed to support the creation of new work and original interpretation. We offer Programs in Performance, which include Acting, Directing and Writing for Performance as well as Programs in Design and Production, which include Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scene Design, Scene Painting, Properties, Puppetry, and Sound Design programs and Stage Management, Producing, and Technical Direction. Production and class work complement each other, challenging students to redefine performance on the basis of an appreciation for theatre traditions. In all aspects of our work, we encourage students to develop skills, to take risks, and to commit fully to the collaborative process.
