Program Description:

This Master of Fine Arts program offers a distinctive multi-genre, multi-disciplinary approach, focusing on diverse, international, contemporary literary models. The intensive weekend format, complemented by online study and faculty mentoring, immerses you in the art and craft of writing. Through the MFA workshop and the study of consciousness and literature, you’ll become aware of essential techniques and current practices. We offer you small classes, exposure to a wide range of writers and artists, and the chance to work closely with faculty members. The curriculum focuses on helping you develop both artistically and professionally. A professional development component includes courses in teaching, publishing, arts administration, and community arts. Your work culminates in a substantial literary project in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, text/image, or mixed-genre work.
