Program Description:
This program has an emphasis in Gender, Ecology, and Society. In this MA program, you explore issues of social and ecological justice in the context of a multicultural, postcolonial world. The curriculum enables scholarship that takes an advocacy position through rigorous engagement with traditions of thought and close alliances with communities of practice. Using participatory, feminist, policy, and advocacy research; immersion in critical social thought; and extensive community-based work, you explore contemporary social relations in historical, cross-disciplinary, and cross-cultural frameworks. This degree prepares graduates for careers as scholars; teachers; researchers; consultants; and leaders in areas of social change such as conflict resolution, gender and sexuality rights, anti-racist work, international development, and community organizing.
