Degree Offered
MA in Integrative Health Studies
Format: Campus
Program Description:
This two-year, nonclinical program attracts passionate self-starters committed to bridging Western biomedicine and Eastern alternative/complementary approaches to treatment. One of the first accredited graduate programs of its kind, Integrative Health Studies takes the best from science and from time-honored perspectives on mind-body-spirit wholeness and traditional healing. In addition to developing theoretical knowledge, you acquire practical skills, including a special focus on integrative wellness coaching, which can be applied in private practice or in organizational settings. Students may also select a Sound and Healing Focus. Graduates of Integrative Health Studies work in hospitals, clinics, wellness programs, and international nongovernmental organizations. Your course of study includes: wellness program design and coaching, indigenous health and healing, global health and activism, social justice and multicultural health, consciousness and spiritual health, and environmental health. A unique feature of this program is the real-world internship. Our students have produced health fairs for major corporations, provided wellness coaching services for underserved populations, researched healing circles, and brought holistic approaches into integrative clinics.
