Dr. Dirk Davis, Academic Dean of CBU Division of Online and Professional Studies in partnership with School of Education Dean, Dr. Mary Crist, announced the release of a new program: The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization Certificate.

About the Certificate
WHAT: Earn an Autism Spectrum Disorders Authorization to add to your Special Education Credential. The ASDAA certificate offers four graduate courses and each course is three credits.

WHERE: CBU Online & Professional Studies, 100% online format.

WHEN: Courses are offered with two start dates, beginning each spring, summer and fall term. Each class is held in an eight-week online format.

WHY: CTC approved to meet the added authorization requirement by January 31, 2013.

California Baptist University ASDAA certificate coursework may be taken for professional development units, or may be taken for degree applicable credit.

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization core equips students with specific knowledge of the learning and behavioral characteristics of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), instructional strategies for teaching individuals with ASD, strategies for collaborating with other service providers, and families of individuals with ASD.

The ASDAA program is designed for special educators, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school administrators. It is also designed for social workers, psychologists, parents, and others working with or interested in children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders.
