M.A. - Pastoral Ministry
Format: Campus
Program Description:
Caldwell College stands ready and eager to meet the educational needs of those in the Roman Catholic Church and others who desire expertise and credentials in Christian theology and pastoral care. In this new millennium, the Church needs and deserves thoughtful, inspired, and well educated leadership from the men and women who participate in the life of the Church, whether lay or religious, ordained or non-ordained. These ministers require theological knowledge to understand and carry out their duties competently and confidently. They also require finely honed pastoral skills in order to exercise clear and compassionate leadership. The M.A. in Pastoral Ministry is a 36-credit program which combines a solid academic foundation in fundamental Catholic theology with practical approaches to pastoral care. The non-traditional format of the program is designed to accommodate working adults. Students come to campus six Saturdays in the Fall semester, three weekends during the January term, and six Saturdays in the Spring semester. Students also earn six credits through guided independent study in two summer sessions.
New to the program is an optional track in Church Administration that seeks to address the rising demand for trained personnel in administrative and financial skills.
