Program Description:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program specializes in the care of hospitalized vulnerable infants and their families.

This program of study allows the graduate to be eligible for the National Certification Center (NCC) national certification NNP examination. Core concepts include emphasis on embryology, genetics, neonatal pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment, developmental, cultural and family care. Additional advanced skills are taught through a variety or simulated and clinical environments required for competence in a critical care environment.

Modality

The BSN to DNP program is delivered using a blend of: eight, 2-4 day immersion sessions at the Irvine campus; internships/clinical practice in hospitals, clinics and health centers near your home or work; and online lectures, demonstrations and exercises.
