Program Description:

Brandeis' graduate program in Computer Science offers courses and research opportunities in many of the core areas of Computer Science: databases, programming languages, artificial intelligence, networks and distributed and parallel computing, data compression, human computer interaction, and collaborative technology. You will have the opportunity to take courses and do research in many of the emerging interdisciplinary fields associated with Computer Science, such as neural nets and dynamical systems, computational linguistics, computational biology, and educational technology.

Generous scholarships and fellowships are available. Successful applicants to the Ph.D. program are offered full tuition waivers, a stipend, and health insurance allowance. Most of our master’s students receive generous scholarships in the form of merit- and need-based aid.

Brandeis' Computer Science department consists of 10 faculty, all of whom are active in research, both in core Computer Science and in technology-oriented interdisciplinary areas such as computational biology, educational technology, artificial intelligence, algorithms design, parallel computing, programming languages, computer systems, machine learning, and robotics. The Computer Science Department is part of the Volen Center for Complex Systems, an interdisciplinary center for the study of complex computer and biological systems.
