Since effective communication is essential to most aspects of successful human endeavor, the Department of Communication focuses on achieving understanding in human thought, activity, and interaction. Students are given opportunities to create and test ideas, develop individual abilities, and gain competence and confidence. The Department of Communication helps students acquire knowledge and increase abilities that will enable them to function effectively in every area of their public and private lives. The department seeks toprepare skilled communicators for professional careers and Christian service, giving vital background in the fields of business, teaching, law, public relations, government, social work, television, radio, corporate media departments, and various church ministries.
